Principal's Message

Welcome to Cheyenne Mountain Junior High School- Home of the T-Birds

The 2017-18 school year will be my fifth year as CMJH principal, my 13th year at CMJH, and my 29th year in education, and I am very excited to begin another school year!  I am very proud of the staff at CMJH, and I have always been extremely impressed with the Cheyenne Mountain school community.  I am confident that the combination of these two forces will again produce a tremendous school year.  The Cheyenne Mountain School District is widely known as a district of excellence and achievement, and I believe CMJH will positively contribute to this reputation.

The teachers and staff at CMJH are dedicated to offering students a premier middle level education, coupled with the support necessary to help students make a successful transition from an elementary setting to a high school setting.  As we offer students a highly rigorous curriculum, we do not forget that students need social and emotional support to be truly successful and to achieve.  Our school motto- To Build Integrity, Respect/Responsibility, Determination, and Self-advocacy- is not just something that we say and post on the walls, but it is something we are committed to on a daily basis.

So, what can you and your child expect at CMJH?

*A safe and orderly learning environment that emphasizes good character and citizenship where all students are valued as individuals

*Highly qualified teachers who are experts in their content areas and offer high quality instruction

*Teachers and support staff who are dedicated to students’ success, achievement, and overall development

*Instruction and support for all students of all abilities

*A varied curriculum and extracurricular activities to appeal to students' interests

*An opportunity for all students to develop emotionally and socially

*An overall educational opportunity that will allow all students to be successful in a high school setting

Each year I am challenged with meeting or exceeding very high expectations and standards, but I have the utmost confidence in my teachers and staff, in our students, in our parents, and in our community at large.  By all of us working collaboratively and cooperatively, the sky is the limit.  I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to serve our children, our parents, and the entire educational community.  Please know that you are always welcome to contact me with questions, concerns, or comments; I value your feedback.
