This year’s Pennies for Patients fundraiser will take place March 13-17.  Student Council will be leading the collection efforts by visiting ACCESS classes and keeping track of donation totals for each class.  There are classroom prizes for the top three finishers.  All proceeds will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) which supports cancer research and patient services.  Leukemia is the most common cancer in children, adolescents, and young adults under the age of 20. Cheyenne Mountain Jr. High can help make a difference by donating any money, not just pennies, during this fundraising effort. Please consider supporting this very worthy cause.

NJHS is currently accepting applications from 7th grade students for membership in the CMJH Chapter of National junior Honor Society.  This club is involved in school and community service and meets monthly to work on service projects and further develop character, citizenship and leadership. To be eligible for membership, 7th graders must have earned a 3.8 GPA first semester, get two teacher recommendations, be on track to earn 3.8 GPA or better second semester, and submit an application. Applications are available from Mr. Eick or Ms. Jaynes and are due back to them no later than March 17.

The next FAN event will be held at CMHS in the Kiva at 6:30 on February 23rd.  This event will focus on the results of a climate survey that was done at the high school.  While the survey was done at CMHS, the results- concerns about high stress, anxiety, homework load, etc.- are similar issues that junior high students can face.  Click HERE for all the information.
